Audra Bohn has transitioned from her role as an educator into the owner of both Sylvan Learning Centers in Bend. Audra began working at Sylvan Learning more than a decade ago and was drawn to the learning center because it allowed her to utilize her background in education while working one-on-one with students.
After working alongside the previous owner for several years, Audra became heavily involved in the administrative side of the learning center and was interested in investing in a Sylvan location herself. Audra's interest in owning her own center quickly sprouted into a reality when the previous owner announced her retirement.
"When our previous owner decided her time with the center was up, I saw a perfect opportunity for myself to get more involved with Sylvan and take on a business ownership role,” said Audra.
As the new owner, Audra hopes to introduce STEM programs and activities offered by the Sylvan Learning Centers in Bend to as many students in the community as possible.
“We offer demos every month in various classrooms around town to get our community’s students involved and excited about learning STEM,” said Audra. “We are also participating in many STEM fairs and back-to-school nights so even more students can see what STEM is all about.”
